THE POST When a film’s directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, you know it’s gonna be good. The Post documents how the first female publisher of a major US newspaper, The Washington

Post’s ’s Katharine Graham (Streep), and its editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks) teamed up to expose a massive government cover-up. Out 19 Jan WINCHESTER National treasure Helen Mirren stars as a widow in a role supposedly based on a true story about a haunted house in California. Out 2 Feb THE SHAPE OF WATER ER A huge smash stateside, we finally get to see wonderful Sally Hawkins star in Guillermo Del Toro’s latest magical tale, of a mute woman who befriends a sea creature imprisoned in a government laboratory. Out 14 Feb LADY BIRD There was a furore when Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age tale had its 100% Rotten Tomatoes score downgraded to 99% – which shows you just how much US audiences loved Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf in this comedy-drama. Expect plenty of Oscar nods. Out 16 Feb A FANTASTIC WOMAN This Chilean drama sees Daniela Vega play transgender Marina, who is bereft when her partner dies suddenly. Things get even worse when she informs his family, who are openly hostile (and then some). It won rave reviews in the States. Out 2 March THOROUGHBREDS A black comedy set in suburban Connecticut sees childhood friends – and polar opposites – Lily and Amanda reconnect as privileged teens. The girls bond over Lily’s hatred of her stepfather and become a destructive duo who hire a local lowlife to help with their evil plan. Out 9 March WESTWOOD: PUNK, ICON, ACTIVIST This feature-length documentary about fashion icon Dame Vivienne Westwood explores her uphill struggle to success, looking closely at her artistry, activism and cultural significance and using both archive and new footage. It’s Westwood’s story in her own and her closest confidantes’ words. Out 23 March A QUIET PLACE We’re excited to see our favourite IRL couple – Emily Blunt and John Krasinski – on screen together, but also a bit terrified to watch this high-concept horror, which sees a family hiding away in silence on a farm, only communicating by sign language in case the slightest noise awakens a supernatural evil. Emily and John learned sign language for the film. Out 6 April OCEAN’S 8 It’s the Ocean’s movies – with (shock!) women. And what a bunch of women. We’re buzzing about the stellar cast: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. Out 22 June I FEEL PRETTY Amy Schumer is back with a summer comedy and a strong cast including Michelle Williams and Emily Ratajkowski. Renee (Schumer) wakes from a head injury believing that she’s the most beautiful and talented woman in the world. Out 29 June
