WE’VE GOT SO MUCH TIME FOR
Who Was the mystery female celebrity who bit Beyoncé on the face at a party in December 2017? That’s not a sentence we ever thought we’d write ( but to be fair, neither was ‘Donald Trump has been elected President’ and ‘Brangelina are getting divorced’). Yet that was the question that ignited social media last week. And it’s all thanks to Tiffany Haddish.
In an interview, Tiffany said she was at a party when she saw an unnamed actress bite Beyoncé. Yes, actually bite her. ‘Beyoncé’s at the bar, so I said to [ her], “Did she really bite you?”’ she told GQ magazine. ‘She was like, “Yeah.” I was like, “She gonna get her ass beat tonight.” She was like, “Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That bitch is on drugs. She not even drunk. She not like that all the time. Just chill.”’
And so erupted a thousand conspiracy theories. Other guests reportedly at the party were Rihanna, James Franco, Queen Latifah and – prime suspects – actors Sara Foster and Sanaa Lathan, who both later denied it. Chrissy Teigen says she knows who it is and ‘never would have guessed’.
Of course, we were enthralled by the gossip, but it’s just another reason to love Tiffany – who is so much more than that grapefruit scene in Girls Trip. Forced to care for her family from age nine, when an accident left her singleparent mother with brain damage and mental illness, Tiffany’s rise to recognition via her hilarious stand-up and generally upbeat and open attitude is inspiring.
