HAS JEN MOVED ON?
AMID FRENZIED CONJECTURE in the States that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are on the cusp of a reunion (‘Brad: “Jen’s a great mum to my kids”’ and ‘Justin Theroux found old love notes from Brad Pitt in Jennifer Aniston’s house before split’ are actual recent headlines),
Grazia can report that a quieter romance is in fact said to be on the horizon for the 49-year-old actress.
Last week, word reached Grazia that Jen has been ‘growing close’ to her good friend, the Arrested Development actor Will Arnett, 47, in the wake of her split from Justin, 46, earlier this year.
The pair were first linked last month, when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party together. And despite denials from their camps following reports of a relationship, the couple last week travelled to Tahiti together to celebrate Molly Mcnearney’s birthday (Molly is married to their mutual friend Jimmy Kimmel), along with Courteney Cox and Jason Bateman.
‘Jen and Will have been friends for years, but she has been leaning on him since her split from Justin,’ said a source. ‘ Their link is Jason Bateman: he is Will’s best friend, and Jen is his best female friend.
‘ They share so many similarities: they are both romantically wounded, have been divorced twice and are deeply kind and funny, sweet people. There is nothing Jason would like for them more than to find happiness together.’
It comes after Jen split from husband Justin in January, following rumours that their long-distance marriage, with Jen in LA and Justin in New York, had driven them apart.
Will was previously married to Amy Poehler, but they split in 2012 (the divorce was finalised four years later and they have two children together). Before that, he was married to the actress Penelope Miller.
‘ Will loves being in a relationship,’ added the source. ‘He’s very different in that way to Justin, who resisted settling down for a long time.
‘ They have the same lifestyle, friends, personality, priorities in common – they are best friends with the same people and they are both really good friends. Everyone is crossing their fingers that this romance will blossom. It makes perfect sense.’
