TURN UP TO TAKE PART?
In an issue where there was an underlying theme of power relations (14 May), nay in a year of it, I wonder yet again if perhaps referendums should be weighted towards those who have ‘skin in the game’. Just as the Brexit referendum excluded young people who will feel its effects the longest, it doesn’t seem fair for those who will not be personally affected by the outcome to impose their views on others whose lives are likely to be changed by it. Perhaps male MPS shouldn’t get a vote on the tampon tax or millionaires on tax avoidance? Claire
