Why Jen and Brad rekindled their friendship
EVER SINCE Jennifer Aniston announced her split from Justin Theroux in February, she has maintained a lowprofile ( Justin, conversely, has been linked to model Petra Collins and Emma Stone and was only last week pictured out with a new ‘mystery brunette’). Now, however, it seems Jen may be finally moving on – and is embracing life, the dating scene and a rekindled friendship with a very famous ex.
Last week, Us Weekly claimed that Jen is dating two men – one an ‘industry creative’, and another, a ‘tech titan’. Following the report, speculation reached Grazia that one of the men is rumoured to be Sergey Brin, the billionaire founder of Google who split from wife Anna Wojcicki in 2015. One source suggested that the pair had been put in touch by mutual friend Gwyneth Paltrow. Indeed, Gwyneth’s engagement party was one of the few public events that Jen has attended since the end of her marriage.
One La-based source told us, ‘Jen’s friends, as ever, have rallied around and they have all been trying to get her mind off things and setting her up on dates. Jen’s number one rule in all of this was that she wouldn’t date another actor. Gwyneth is friendly with Sergey because she has worked with Google for her role at Goop. He’s worth $55 billion and is one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. Ironically, his ex-wife Anna was once labelled “Jennifer Aniston in Birkenstocks” by Vanity Fair.’
However, Sergey is also reported to be dating fellow tech entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan. So we’ll have to wait and see.
At the same time, a well-placed insider revealed another development: that Jen is back on speaking terms with ex-husband Brad Pitt and that they plan to meet up in London. And yes, we know what you’re thinking. Of course Grazia is trying to peddle a story about Jen reuniting following their respective splits – but hear us out. Jen’s new Netflix project, Murder Mystery, brings her to the city, meanwhile Brad is in the UK visiting his children while Angelina Jolie is filming. ‘Brad and Jen have been in touch sporadically over the years, but a lot more consistently since she split from Justin,’ says our
source. ‘Brad reached out to her earlier this year to express his sympathy after the Justin split. Their divorce was such a long time ago. The plan is to meet for dinner, but the last thing they want is any speculation of a reunion.’
Another man putting a smile on Jen’s face is said to be Murder Mystery co-star David Walliams. Last month, he uploaded a photo of them having dinner with the cast. ‘David’s had Jen in stitches on set,’ said an insider. ‘She’s happy to be around such a positive group of people and finally seems to be enjoying herself again.’
