THE £76 SECRET TO ‘GOOD GIRL’ KATE’ S REINVENTION

-

Kate Moss is the human equivalent of black in the fashion world – she never goes out of style. So it feels a bit odd declaring ‘Kate Moss is back!’ But that’s been the chat among the fashion crowd at the recent set of shows, including Saint Laurent’s in Paris last week, where Kate sat front row. When asked in a TV interview in New York why she was looking so happy, her own take was simple: ‘I’m a good girl now.’ So what does that involve exactly? As previously reported in Grazia, Kate has been sober for nearly a year and friends say this is her most major lifestyle change. It’s also a pretty phenomenal feat given that her reputation as a legendary party animal has, over the years, almost eclipsed her status as an international style icon. But no more. A number of factors, including the sobriety of her boyfriend, Count Nikolai von Bismarck, 30, and the devastating death of some of her former friends, including, most recently, model Annabelle Neilson, have all contributed to this lifestyle overhaul.

‘Kate’s loving her new life,’ a friend told Grazia. ‘She’s been surrounding herself with friends who are also sober and clean-eating and she’s never felt happier.’ Indeed, just last week Kate was pictured at Sexy Fish in Mayfair drinking ginger beer as she celebrated her daughter Lila Grace’s 16th birthday with fellow healthy lifestyle advocate Sadie Frost.

Grazia can also reveal that Kate is understood to be taking the beauty industry’s new ‘miracle’ anti-ageing pills, Lumity. The supplements cost from £76.50 and were apparently recommended to Kate by her friends Helena Christensen and Rosemary Ferguson, who both swear by them. ‘ You take two sets of three pills in the morning and at night,’ said a source. ‘All Kate’s friends have been raving about them on Instagram.’ The mocha-coloured morning pills contain a mix of vitamins A, B, E and C, plus selenium, turmeric root and extract of flaxseed oil, while the evening ones contain potent amino acids that help you sleep better and for longer.

In a recent – and rare – interview, Kate admitted that she’s also trying to get eight hours’ sleep a night. Promoting her new skincare range with Japanese brand Decorté, she said, ‘I’m a good girl now. I go to bed, I drink lots of water, I try not to drink too much coffee… I take care of myself.’

Indeed, sources say Kate – the woman who reportedly once threw crisps at Gwyneth Paltrow for exercising the morning after a massive party – is now alternating yoga with instructor Nadia Narain and near-daily gym sessions. ‘I’ve never been a gym bunny,’ she said of her new-found love of exercise in an interview last year. ‘I was always like, “Ugh!”, it made me feel ill, but now I’ve actually started working out.’

Finally, Kate is also said to have been giving veganism a whirl, having been introduced to it by her ex-husband, Jamie Hince, a devout vegan. She was pictured at hot Notting Hill vegan restaurant Farmacy recently. ‘Kate started cutting out meat when she was with Jamie, but lately she’s really been enjoying the health benefits,’ said a source.

However, Kate still has one vice left – the fags. But she admitted last month, ‘I’m trying to cut down.’ The moment those go, it really will be the end of an era.
