With five-year-old North West taking to the runway last week, it seems there are new benchmarks to meet to be a cool kid
1. YOU OWN THE CATWALK
We’re not talking Kaia Gerber-style – a teenage model career is too easy. We’re talking Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West, walking in the LOL Surprise! catwalk show in LA, in an outfit echoing Michael Jackson’s Thriller, with diamanté-studded shades. Because if you’re going to go extra, why not go EX-TRA?
2. YOUR TOYS ARE INSTAGRAM STARS
We were already in love with Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr’s hilarious Instagram account (we presume run by her mum Serena Williams and dad Alexis Ohanian). Now, we’re obsessed with @Realqaiqai, Olympia’s mistreated doll, who can usually be found wearing a leg cast after being dropped on her head (again), has 29.3k followers, a Twitter account and has already starred as a Snapchat filter. Your Tiny Tears is embarrassing, hun.
3. YOU CAN TURN ALL WEDDINGS INTO HEADLINES
There’s stealing the show… and then there’s Prince George and Princess Charlotte at a wedding. The adorable siblings draw the camera every time – especially if they’re wearing some kind of Victoriana outfit. We’re not even sure who got married last week, but we were very into George’s loafers and have created three memes using pictures of him doing the robot while there.
4. YOU’RE A FASHION ICON ( BEFORE MOST OF YOUR FRIENDS CAN EVEN SPELL ICON) ON)
Aged seven, Harper has a Vogue cover, has FROWED before she could walk, her new bob made headlines worldwide and she has a designer wardrobe to rival VB’S. Imagine your mum saying this about you: ‘She’s been able to run in Alaïa platforms since she was three.’
5. YOU BANG ANG YOUR OWN DRUM
In the meaningful, emotional way, obvs. But also literally. At their New York Fashion Week show, designers Eckhaus Latta soundtracked the catwalk with toddlers banging plastic buckets. And our mums complained about violin practice…
