Of course I love her style, but really it is her wit, irreverence and fearlessness that I admire most – style is irrelevant if the person isn’t interesting. Katharine had an unusual combination of being a tomboy but also being downright feminine. You can always tell when someone has grown up with brothers; there is that unequivocal charm and charisma. I remember a striking scene in Summertime, where she is very comfortable sitting alone at an outdoor café, just people-watching, perfectly dressed with virtually no make-up and a simple khaki dress.
