let your clothes reflect your emotions ...says Laure Hériard Dubreuil, founder and CEO of The Webster, of Federico Fellini’s 1963 film 8½ ‘Fellini said, “The film is about the self-acceptance that can occur only when you’ve grasped that the only thing that exists is yourself, your true deep self.” The fashion in the film brings this realisation alive through the bizarre, grotesque and exotic ( but always so chic). The costumes define each character’s emotions. It captures ’60s Italy, it’s so elegant. My favourite is the harem scene, when the main character Guido slips into a fantasy. Translucent veils frequently pass in front of the camera, which could be the woman’s scarves twirling, but gives a vivid feeling of a cinematic daydream.’
