BOLDLY BAUHAUS

-

Inject a shot of high design into your space with accessories inspired by this year’s 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus movement. ‘ The eternally modern Bauhaus movement presents distinctive silhouettes, which are as practical as they are beautiful, with simple geometric forms, reflective surfaces and elegant curves,’ says Sabina Miller, head of buying at Heal’s.

Add a bit of Bauhaus with furniture that combines a steel frame with natural materials, such as leather. ‘For a simple Bauhaus-inspired update for the home, design-focused ceramics, lighting and textiles can instantly set the tone of the space,’ says Sabina. TURKISH DELIGHT

Yeni – a new Turkish restaurant that champions the flavours of modern Istanbul – is a delight. It’s got homely interiors (think copper lamps, long wooden tables, exposed white brickwork and turquoise tiles) and a menu full of surprises, including beetroot with sour cherries and kouvaraki cheese. Our favourite? The roasted beef ribs with isot pepper, cumin and sourdough. 55 Beak Street, London; yeni.london
