At the end of the day… Bobbi Brown

-

The first thing I do when I get home is drop my bags and say hi to the dogs. We have a mixed beagle mutt called Biggie and then there’s my son’s dog, Summer. I clean up the kitchen because my son will have left a mess, and then I find my husband so we can decide whether we’re eating in or out.

I would like to cook more, as I feel much better when I do home cooking. I make soups and vegetables in the week or grilled fish. My new brand Evolution_18 was born out of the fact that I absolutely see a difference when people start doing better things with their health. Make-up is amazing but it’s fruit and vegetables that make the real difference to your skin. As a result, I did a degree at the Institute for Integrative Medicine, so now I’m a qualified health coach. I’m a health nut now but I also believe in treats (the right kind) and I love a vodka on the rocks. I figure vodka’s made from potatoes, so it’s OK.

When it comes to exercise it’s not about pounding myself in the gym. It’s the long game that really matters. I have a Peloton in my bedroom which I do one to two times a week and I walk every day, sometimes to and from work. I would love to meditate – it’s on the top of my list

– but I keep moving the list. I also have an infrared sauna that I go in once a week. I work really hard at relaxing, but I don’t do it very well. After dinner I may make a cup of herbal tea and watch The Crown, which I love, but most evenings I spend a lot of time on Instagram.

When I go up to bed the first thing I do is take off my clothes, and put on some soft PJS and a bath robe. I then clean my face with coconut oil and I moisturise with Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream, which I love. I then take my probiotic from my range and maybe some mint capsules which help my digestion. Then I tie my hair in a ponytail and get into bed with a cup of tea, grab a book and turn on the TV.

Contrary to what you might think, I don’t do loads of beauty treatments in the bathroom. I’m always so tired I want to be in and out as quickly as possible. However, one thing I’m mastering is this new Advanced LED Mask from The Light Salon, which uses light therapy to boost collagen – it lights up red inside. I honestly use less foundation than I ever did in my life, but I’m not sure whether that’s the Augustinus Bader or this.

On my bedside table I have three beautiful silver frames with my boys’ first ever pictures from hospital post-birth. I also have a bright neon pink thermos which I fill with boiling water before bed so that it’s the perfect temperature by morning. I also have some books

– currently these are three biographies from Elvis

Duran, Blondie and Demi Moore.

Lights out is at 10.30pm.

If I catch the 11 o’clock news it’s a miracle. I wear my kids’ long-sleeve cotton college tops to bed and the dogs are in with us too. I’m a really good sleeper, and I sometimes wake but go straight back.
