I really valued the fact that Grazia paid tribute to Caroline Flack (2 Mar) in a thoughtful and moving way by seeking advice from the Samaritans on suicide. Your coverage got across the essence of Caroline, ‘a powerhouse’ in her own right, discussed mental health struggles and how the ‘slow creep of tragic events’ is becoming more frequent, with Polly Vernon questioning the digital world we have found ourselves living in and asking us to think before we post. Wouldn’t it be great if Caroline’s death wasn’t in vain and we embraced a time to be kind? I think so... Julie

I’ve just read your coverage on the tragedy of Caroline Flack taking her own life and am so glad that Kat Brown mentioned Shout, the service for people in crisis. I am a Shout volunteer and it’s so fulfilling. Yes there are difficult conversations, but you have support and training, and the sense of satisfaction when you know you have been able to help someone is unbeatable. Shout is there to help 24/7 at giveusashout.org or text 85258. Kirsty

It was with a heavy heart that I read about Caroline Flack, as remembered by Danny Bell. The disparity in the availability of mental health services is a long-standing issue, despite mental health being the single largest cause of disability in the UK. A friend of mine sought counselling and was put on a six-month waiting list. She took her own life before she got an appointment. Beatrice
