Discover the Italy you’ve never seen
Away from the madding crowds, Trentino offers dramatic scenery, a balmy climate and an authentic slice of Italian life. No wonder it’s a favourite destination for those in-the-know
TRENTINO IS A stunning and uniquely Italian holiday destination. In the north of the country, it’s a slice of authentic Italy as well as being an area of breathtaking natural beauty with three natural parks, the rugged Dolomites mountains (a World Heritage Site) and 297 lakes, including Lake Garda.
Garda Trentino, the northern tip of Lake Garda, is wilder than the southern shores, and here the scenery is without equal – the startling, ever-changing blues of the lake, pastel towns that glow in the sun, forested mountains that soar skywards and, in the distance, the snow-capped Alps.
Garda Trentino is also found within one of UNESCO’S rare Biosphere reserves – in just 19 miles the climate changes dramatically. By the lake, cicadas sing among olive groves that thrive in the balmy climate. But in the nearby foothills of the Brenta Dolomite mountains, the alpine air is crisp and cool. Between these two very different landscapes lie vineyards, chestnut forests, wildflower meadows and charming villages.
Do as much or as little as you like. Adrenalin junkies can enjoy windsurfing and sailing, as well as walking, cycling and climbing. Explore the Garda Trek trails in the mountains, where eagles ride the thermals, and snap Instagram-worthy views from a boat cruise on Lake Garda. Or simply soak up the sun on a beach, all the while enjoying quintessential la dolce vita.
Garda Trentino is real Italy, offering laid-back charm, delicious food and excellent wines, all under sunny skies.
