THE HFH COCKTAIL: A SUNNY AFTERNOON SPRITZ

No holiday is complete without a special drink, so Rich Woods, aka The Cocktail Guy and co-owner of the ultra-hip Scout Bar, has whipped up this gin number for Grazia. The verdict? ‘It isn’t summer until you’re sipping a spritz in the sun, and I love that this one evokes hazy summer evenings in the British countrysid­e,’ says Hannah Lodge from cool drinking guide Barchick. ‘Raspberry sweetness is balanced out by the herbal tarragon and fizzed up with sparkling wine.’

INGREDIENT­S

35ml gin or tarragon gin 30ml raspberry, pink pepper and juniper cordial (recipe below) Prosecco

Ice

Fill a large wine glass with ice. Add the gin and cordial and stir. Top up with prosecco.

FOR THE CORDIAL:

2g pink peppercorn­s 5g juniper berries 8 raspberrie­s 150ml water

75g sugar

Crack the pink pepper and juniper berries and place in a sealable jam jar. Add the raspberrie­s and water. Seal and shake to smash the raspberrie­s. Leave to infuse for at least 6 hours. Filter through a fine strainer and weigh the liquid. Add 50% sugar and mix to dissolve. Bottle.
