Colour therapy

Natalie Manima, aka Bespoke Binny, creates vibrant homeware and lifestyle products inspired by African textiles.

What’s your backstory? I worked as a cognitive behavioural therapist and, wanting a creative outlet, started evening sewing classes. I began making bits out of African prints for myself. African textiles are typically used for clothing, but I wanted to find new ways to use them and opened an Etsy shop and attended craft fairs; it’s grown over the past seven years into a range that includes lampshades, throws and kitchenware.

Where do you work? For a long time from my dining table, but my stuff was taking over my flat. So I’ve just got my first studio.

What inspires you? My Ghanian and Jamaican heritage. African prints lift the mood and vibe of a room in a positive way. bespokebinny.com; @bespokebinny
