I wanted to tell you how much you’ve helped me this past year. I’m Canadian and read Grazia through Apple News. You are the only magazine that prints stories that speak to me in this time and acknowledge how tough this pandemic is. Keep up the awesome work. Morag
#METOO: SECOND WAVE
Sophie Wilkinson is right: there is still much work to do when it comes to male violence (Is this the new wave of #Metoo?; 22 Feb). I reported my ex 18 months ago for sexually assaulting me and requested a check to see if he had a history of violence to partners: he had. Rape statistics are depressing, with convictions at an all-time low. In the 12 months up to March 2020, 55,259 rapes were reported in England and Wales, but there were only 2,102 prosecutions, resulting in 1,439 convictions. I hope the CPS will take my case to court, even though it will be gruelling. I want him exposed as an abuser. Even if it doesn’t go to trial, hopefully he will think twice before doing it to anyone else. Name withheld
ISOLATION SO HARD
Thank you for If you are lonely right now, you are not alone
(8 Feb). I’ve been WFH since March and my elderly mother lives with me, but her dementia means I mostly feel like I live alone. I have lots of friends to video chat with, but I still can’t shake the feeling of loneliness. Laura perfectly put my thoughts into words. Alex
