Are bins better than the boxes?

RUBBISH is one of the hottest topics in North East Lincolnshire – everyone has an opinion on it.

For years, residents have been complaining about the triple box recycling system – they weren’t big enough, they needed lids, they were too flimsy were just some of the things you didn’t like about them.

If it’s windy, rubbish flies out of them, if it rained, the water dripped down onto you when you lifted them up to put them out for collection.

So finally, we are getting new bins for our recycling – one for paper and card, one for everything else.

But it seems still not everyone is happy.

Many say they don’t have room for two more huge bins, others say it would take them months to fill them, while others just can’t wait to get their hands on them.
