Our Covid cases up by 27 - as another dies in hospital
TWENTY seven new coronavirus cases have been detected across northern Lincolnshire in 24 hours. A total of 11 new cases were confirmed in North East Lincolnshire and 16 in North Lincolnshire, another significant increase. This takes the total for the pandemic to 343 in the Grimsby region and 962 for the Scunthorpe region. Cases have been rising steadily for weeks despite warnings from public health experts.
The third Covid-19 patient has died in hospital so far this month on
Monday. Their death was reported yesterday.
121 people have now sadly died across the Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole hospitals since the Covid-19 outbreak began - the most recent on Monday.
For the second day running, the UK has seen more than 7,000 new cases. The worrying figures are the highest since mass testing was introduced.
Another 52 deaths have been confirmed around the country on Wednesday, almost double the toll for that day last week. Downing Street is to bring back regular briefings as the country grapples with a second wave of the virus. A growing number of areas have been placed under local lockdown or had additional restrictions implemented to curb local outbreaks.
