Health chiefs confirm 10 new coronavirus cases
THREE people were being treated for coronavirus in northern Lincolnshire hospitals with ten new cases reported over the past 24 hours.
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust yesterday confirmed the number of patients in its hospitals who have tested positive for Covid-19. Meanwhile, the latest official figures show a total of three new cases were confirmed in North East Lincolnshire and seven in North Lincolnshire.
This brings the total throughout the outbreak to 346 in the Grimsby area and 969 in the Scunthorpe region.
The latest rise, which is lower than the 27 recorded the previous day, suggests cases may be stabilising in the area with the national daily tally of 6,914 also a drop on that reported on Wednesday. However, the last day of September brought a tragic reminder the pandemic is far from over.
It saw the fourth death of a Covid-19 patient in hospital during the month as the second peak continues amid increased restrictions.
While restrictions haven’t changed any more in northern Lincolnshire, other parts of England have seen stricter measures implemented with it illegal for people to meet indoors in Liverpool, Warrington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough from tomorrow.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock told MPs the new rules “are necessary” the day after Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned the nation that he “will not hesitate” to take further action to stem the spread of coronavirus if cases continue to rise.
Data is available for how many cases have been confirmed in each neighbourhood and region across northern Lincolnshire, and is available to view online.
