A HOME has been daubed with sick graf- fiti following the tragic death of a local l resident who lived nearby. Lincolnshire Police confirmed they y responded to an incident on Sunday, , when tragically a man aged 60 years was s found dead in his home in North Somer- cotes.
After his death, graffiti appeared on n another house in the same street. It is believed to be linked to allegations the victim had been involved in a dispute with h another local resident before his death. A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Police said officers has initially been called to a home in Locksley Way at around 1.15pm m on Sunday where a body was found. She said: “There are no suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner. “Officers were again called to Locksley Way when a nearby rented home was subjected to criminal damage and graffiti painted on the front wall. The home is rented by social landlord Platform Housing Group, who arranged for the graffiti to be removed on Wednesday.
Marion Duffy, chief operations officer at Platform Housing Group said: “We take all incidents of antisocial behaviour and disputes between residents very seriously. “We will continue to work closely with the police on this investigation. We are unable to comment further but would like to reassure those living in the neighbourhood that are working with all those involved.” A villager told the Grimsby Telegraph: “We are all still shocked by what has happened. The graffiti could be seen right from the end of the road. It is such a sad event yet some people just want to add to it by daubing on the wall and causing damage. It is awful.”
The spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Words have been daubed onto a property on Locksley Way, North Somercotes, Louth.
“This is a different property to the one involved in incident 188 of Sunday. “We are investigating this and would appeal for anyone who witnessed the commission of this offence or anyone who knows who is responsible to contact us on 101 or alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
