My life completely changed because of boxing. It just shows the positive impact it can have

A TEENAGE business owner wants ts to change the lives of children through boxing after the sport did the same thing g for him.

Bailey Greetham-Clark, 17, is using g his experiences to help inspire young children ldren to get involved and provide an outlet for them to help express themselves in a positive way.

Bailey, from Humberston, runs online training and works as a personal trainer through his business, Be Great Fitness, and is now looking at teaching boxing in schools.

He believes the sport teaches discipline and respect and has already got one school signed up for January. He said: “It will focus on the discipline and respect side of things rather than the fighting. “I wasn’t great as a child until I took up the sport, and once I did my life changed for the better, and I was good as a boxer, too.

“Football was never right for me, I wish boxing was in place when I was at school and I’d have discovered my love for it sooner.

“I only got fit when I started boxing, I think it could make a big difference for a lot of kids too. “I’ve seen children completely change and improve once they started going to the boxing club I go to, but I’ve also seen the change in myself. “I came second in the England Development Championships, my behaviour at school improved to the point where I won a Golden Apple award, I got press coverage on a national level.

“My life completely changed because of boxing. “It just shows the positive impact it can have on a child.”

Bailey also wants to use Be Great Fitness to run a “Champion Series”, which will highlight local athletes and contact local businesses to try and

increase awareness for the athletes and sort out sponsorships for them.

He said: “With the Champion Series, we will hopefully put local athletes in contact with local businesses to sort out sponsorships and also just give them the awareness they deserve. “Funding from sponsorships can be an absolute lifesaver for athletes just getting started. It can mean they can afford to attend a championship that they might not have been able to before. It makes a world of difference.”

Bailey’s enthusiasm and self-motivation encouraged him to want to work for himself and decided to set up his business at a young age.

He said: “I was on a construction course and decided that it just wasn’t for me. I had good results in my exams but it just didn’t inspire me.

“I am enjoying having a business much more. “Ever since I set it up, every paycheck is going straight into the company, and I’m loving it.

“It’s a passion project for me because I want to give back for all the help boxing gave me.

“I put my boxing career on hold for a little while, but I am getting back into it, because I can’t really be training people about the sport without taking part in it myself.

“I need boxing myself because it keeps me on my toes and keeps my attention, and setting up a busi You can contact Bailey via his business’ Facebook page.
