A MEMBER of staff at Scartho Infants School has tested positive for coronavirus, parents have been told. Letters have been sent to the families of those pupils who were in close proximity to the staff member. There are around 73 pupils who are now self-isolating for 14 days as a result of the staff member’s positive test.

Pupils in Class Two of Year Two and Class Three in Year one and 13 nursery pupils are isolating at home as a precaution.

In a letter to parents the school said: “Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid19) will be a mild illness.

“The number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.

“If you have not received a letter then the school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal.”

The school has given advice on what to do if your child develops symptoms of Covid-19, including g other household members staying at t home.

The school statement added: “All l other household members who o remain well, must stay at home and d not leave the house for 14 days. This includes anyone in your “support bubble.”

Advice was also given to parents s so that any child who develops s symptoms should remain at home e for at least 10 days.

Anyone who displays symptoms s will be eligible for testing and can be e arranged through the NHS website e or by calling 119.

The school statement said anyone needing household supplies or medication or needing to walk a dog, should ask a friend or relative and do shopping online. “Household members staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community,” the school said.
