TWO MORE DIE OF COVID-19 IN NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE

-

ONE of the members of the non-teaching staff at Lisle Marsden Church of England Primary Academy has tested positive for Covid-19.

The school announced the latest update involving a non-teaching member of staff and another staff member are completely unrelated to the two previous cases involving students at the academy earlier this week.

The statement from the school said a non-teaching member of staff who tested positive and a staff member who had been in close contact were now selfisolating.

The school spokeswoman said: “All close contacts of the non-teaching member of staff have been identified, resulting in one member of staff being required to self-isolate for 14 days and follow the government guidance if they start to show symptoms of the virus.

“The member of staff has had no contact with children in their role at the academy, no children are affected in any way.

“We have followed advice from Public Health England in dealing with this case, all the appropriate health, safety and infection management measures continue to be in place.

“Sadly, as positive cases of Covid-19 continue to rise at such a rapid rate in the area of Grimsby that the academy serves, more positive cases occurring within the academy community could well be likely.

“We of course hope that this will not be the case.

“The academy will continue to remain open to all our students, families and members of staff.”

Lisle Marsden Church of England School sent out letters to parents on Monday, October 19 to confirm the two coronavirus cases.

An undisclosed number of pupils have also been sent home as a precaution, from Years Six and Two at the Lansdowne Avenue school.

The statement from the school’s principal Dan Kinsey said the two positive cases were unrelated.

He said: “The two separate cases are restricted to Year 6 and Year 2. Both cases are unrelated. “Parents of children in Year Six and Year Two identified as being in close proximity to the children have already been contacted by the school.

“All other children can continue to attend school as normal.”
