RESORT MUM HEADBUTTED WORKER WHO TOLD HER OFF FOR URINATING IN PUBLIC

A CLEETHORPE­S mum has been spared jail after assaulting a P&O worker.

Ashley Hendrie, 27, of Davenport rt Drive in Cleethorpe­s, has been given a second nd chance by a judge after she assaulted the P&O &O worker at the ferry terminal in Hull.

Hull Crown Court heard Hendrie e attacked the woman after she had told her off for urinating in public at the terminal.

It is understood she headbutted the he woman, causing her to fall.

Hendrie, a mum-of-two, was given n a second chance by Recorder Algazy QC when en she was sentenced.

Recorder Algazy handed Hendrie a 16 month sentence suspended for 24 months. He also ordered her to carry out 150 unpaid work hours as well as a rehabilita­tion activity for ten days.

P&O Ferries have declined to comment. This is not the first time Hendrie has found herself in the dock.

Grimsby Magistrate­s’ Court heard she had taken taxis in the morning but wrongly thought the alcohol would have cleared from her system by the afternoon.

Police o ce were e eae alerted t that she was drink-driving near her home.

Officers saw her he drive on Davenport Drive and she approach approached them and suggested that she had been drinking drin and might still be over the limit.

Hendrie seemed to be tired and her speech was slurred. She said she had been drinking until 3am.

A breath test rev revealed she had 85mcg of alcohol in 100ml of bre breath.

She was given a £250 fine and banned from driving for 20 mon months.
