Covid-19 rates remain stable as region prepares for Tier 3

-

THERE were 110 new cases of coronavrius across northern Lincolnshire in the 24 hours up to last night as the area looks toward an exit from national lockdown into Tier 3 measures.

The levelling of case numbers comes as the Government has announced it will place North and North East Lincolnshire into Tier 3 when national lockdown ends next week.

Of these new cases there were 45 confirmed in North East Lincolnshire which represents a slight reduction from the previous day’s 69 and means the region has now seen 5038 coronavirus cases. In North Lincolnshire there was a slight increase from the previous 61 with the area recording 65 new cases to give a total of 4,619 through the pandemic.

According to the latest NHS seven day rolling average which includes data up to the November 25, North East Lincolnshire has a rate of 413.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In North Lincolnshire this latest NHS data gives a rate of 361 cases per 100,000 people. Over in East Lindsey, which was an area of concern following a spike in recent weeks, there have been 176 cases since Wednesday and the area has now seen a total of 3,351 confirmed cases.

The latest seven-day rolling case rate for the area seems to suggest things are being brought under control as it has dropped from 470 to 431 cases per 100,000 people.

In northern Lincolnshire’s hospitals a further seven deaths were announced yesterday, continuing a worrying month for the region’s NHS services which have seen their highest death toll at any point in the pandemic.

Two of the deaths took place on Wednesday and five on Thursday, this takes the overall number of people who have lost their lives in the area’s hospitals during the pandemic to 225 – 87 of those tragic deaths have come during the last month alone.
