Coronavirus rates continue to fall in our area
THE rate of new coronavirus infections across northen Lincolnshire continues to fall as both North East and North Lincolshire see lower numbers of cases day-on-day.
The latest figures come as the Prime Minister has suggested to Tory MPs that regions with improving rates may have their Tier reviewed on December 16. With that public letter and confirmed falling rates in this region and neighbouring East Lindsey, there is hope that the area may move back to Tier 2 before Christmas.
In North East Lincolnshire there were 41 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hour period which is a fall on the previous day’s number of 46. In North Lincolnshire there were 38 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the last day which represents a significant drop on the 58 recorded in the previous 24 hours.
Despite these falling numbers, both areas will leave the national lockdown and enter Tier 3 on December 2.
North East Lincolnshire has now recorded 5125 cases throughout the pandemic while North Lincolshire has seen 4715 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
In the latest government held data which records a seven day rolling rate up to November 24, North East Lincolnshire has recorded a rate of 316.5 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people.
In the same data North Lincolnshire has recorded a rolling rate of 281.5 coronavirus cases per 100,000 people. Both rates are a fall on the figures available 24 hours earlier, which had North East Lincolnshire at a rate of 340.3 and North Lincolnshire at 312.8.
In neighbouring East Lindsey, which has been an area of concern in recent weeks, they have recorded 35 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours for a total of 3445 throughout the pandemic. This is a drop from the 59 new cases yesterday and the rolling seven day rate has also dropped from 373.3 cases per 100,000 people to 330.2 cases.
