Breaking it all down
Immingham, Killingholme, & Keelby
At the top border of North East Lincolnshire, Immingham sits comfortably in North East Lincolnshire, but some nearby villages miss out.
The notable places to miss out are North and South Killingholme, as well as Keelby, which are all considered a part of North Lincolnshire. This means that, despite being closer to Grimsby, they should stay within North Lincolnshire and go to Scunthorpe for Christmas shopping.
Many people will still have to take trips across the border, however, with Phillips 66 and Lindsey Oil Refinery both sitting next to South Killingholme, not to mention a large part of Immingham Docks.
These are, of course, allowed under the new tier rules, which lets people travel between areas for work.
Laceby and Caistor
For Laceby the village is very much in North East Lincolnshire, while Caistor sits comfortably in West Lindsey.
However, there may be some children who will still travel to Caistor from North East Lincolnshire for Caistor Grammar School. Travel to school is obviously allowed as schools remain open.
When it comes to small villages in the very north of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Irbyupon-Humber is part of North East
Lincolnshire, while Swallow is part of West Lindsey.
Lincolnshire Wolds
The very North East corner of the Lincolnshire Wolds is part of North East Lincolnshire.
The majority of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is in East Lindsey, with the rest in West Lindsey. Villages such as Beelsby, Hatcliffe, East Ravendale, and Wold Newton are all in North East Lincolnshire. Meanwhile, places such as Croxby, Thorganby, Swinhope, and Brookenby are all in West Lindsey, while Binbrook is in East Lindsey.
Holton-le-Clay and Louth
Of course, Louth is very much in East Lindsey, but a lot of people may travel through to North East Lincolnshire for work or Christmas shopping.
Under the new tier rules, it looks like the latter cannot happen, but residents of Louth can still travel for any of the listed reasons above.
Holton-le-Clay has a much more difficult situation, because, according to the new restrictions, they should not cross the border into North East Lincolnshire for shopping and other non-essential reasons. Other villages such as Tetney, North Cotes, and North Thoresby also fall into East Lindsey.
