STREET IS TRANSFORMED INTO A WINTER WONDERLAND
FAMILY HOPE TO RAISE MORE THAN £1.2K FOR HOSPICE WITH SPECTACULAR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SHOW
THE true spirit of Christmas is shining bright in Grimsby’s Grasby Crescent where residents have made a spectacular display. Tracey and Martin Connolly and their daughters Jasmine and Saffron are aiming to collect more than £1,200 for St Andrew’s Hospice from visitors to their street. Several have travelled long distances to marvel at the lights show, which includes reindeer and a giraffe.
Not normally associated with Christmas celebrations, the giraffe was built especially for Jasmine, 12, by her dad Martin, a Grimsby haulier.
It is on display in a window. Neighbours, Polly and Marcus Griffiths were not to be out done by The Connollys and have put thousands of lights out their house front. Tracey has attracted visitors to the crescent for more than 12 years with the display.
We have lots of children come past. It is amazing to see their faces – people have come quite a long way to see them, which makes it all worthwhile
