TETNEY Primary School has closed the entirety of its Key Stage 2 bubble following a confirmed case of Covid-19 and all children within the affected year groups are being collected by parents.

The small village school on Humberston Road is usually home to 94 primary school children but that number will be more than halved for the final days of the term as all of Key Stage 2 will be asked to stay home and isolate. The classes involved are the Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 classes and all 62 pupils within those classes will be asked to isolate following the 10 day guidelines set out by the government.

In an email to parents the school said: “I am very sorry to say that we have had a confirmed case of Covid within the school.

“We are closing the Key Stage 2 bubble and are requesting that you please come and collect your children immediately. More information will follow shortly.”

With the school term set to end tomorrow, this means that all pupils in Key Stage 2 will now miss the final few days of teaching as isolation period runs for 10 days from Saturday, December 12. This means the children will be out of isolation in time for the beginning of the five day Christmas bubble period which starts on December 23.

The school operates full Key Stage bubbles which is the reason that the entirety of Key Stage 2 has been asked to go home and isolate rather than individual classes.

I am very sorry to say that we have had a confirmed case of Covid

within the school.
