THE BANK has been fined £26m for its poor treatment of customers facing financial difficulties. The Financial Conduct Authority found it failed to treat customers in arrears fairly from 2014 to 2018. It had not had appropriate conversations to help understand why they had payment difficulties and offered unaffordable, or unsustainable solutions.
