DC kicks off the new year with an event which looks at potential and possible futures for some of its most loved characters. Deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, Yara Flor has risen out of obscurity to protect Man’s World from the magic that lies within it.

Along with her trusty steed, she journeys to the Underworld to rescue one of her sisters from the grasp of Hades, and change the history of Wonder Woman forever. Written and drawn by Joelle Jones, Future State: Wonder Woman #1 is out now priced £4.50.

TOKYO GHOUL: VOLUME 1

ONE of the darker anime franchises to come out of Japan, Tokyo Ghoul sparked a cult live-action series. It tells the story of Ken Kaneki, an ordinary college student turned into the first half-human half-ghoul hybrid after a violent street encounter. Trapped between two worlds, he has to survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers and resist a craving for human flesh. One for older, teenage audiences, Tokyo Ghoul: Volume 1 is out now priced £8.99.

AVATAR: NEXT SHADOW #1

IT’S been nearly 12 years since it hit the big screen, but James Cameron’s Avatar still captures imaginations.
