Rolling infection rate on the rise
THERE were 66 new cases of coronavirus across northern Lincolnshire on the same day the Prime Minister set out plans to end lockdown.
North East Lincolnshire recorded a 16 per cent increase in its seven-day rolling infection rate during this time period meaning it is now the third worst performing area in the UK behind Rutland and Herefordshire. Over in North Lincolnshire there is continued improvement as the area has maintained a 25 per cent reduction in its rates which is above the UK average of 21 per cent.
In North East Lincolnshire there were 41 new cases of
Covid-19 reported on Monday in the latest statistics bringing the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 7,522.
In North Lincolnshire there were 25 new cases of the virus during the same time period. The borough has now seen 7,905 cases since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
In neighbouring East Lindsey there have been 5,791 cases with 70 reported in the last seven-day interval. The government gives the area a current seven-day rolling infection rate of 49.4 cases per 100,000.
North East Lincolnshire’s seven-day rolling infection rate has continued to rise in a worrying trend, the region is now seeing a 16 per cent increase in the rates weekon-week and it currently stands at 115.9 cases per 100,000 people. In North Lincolnshire in contrast the infection rate has continued to improve with a 25 per cent week-on-week decrease and the region has a current rate of 88.2 cases per 100,000.
