This compares to the 13 per cent – or 13,526 people between 16 and 69-years-old – who have had their first dose. Of those, about 2 per cent – or 335 – have received their second.

North Lincolnshire

For the 16 to 69-year-olds, about 15 per cent – or 16,906 people - have had their first dose, while roughly 1 per cent – or 244 people – have received their second.

It comes as the director of North East Lincolnshire’s public health, Stephen Pintus, praised the CCG for its “brilliant” work in rolling out the vaccine.

He said: “Some of us are quite long in the tooth in our careers but we have never seen anything quite like the effort that is being put into this vaccine programme.

“We are beginning to work our way down the age groups. We are in the over 90 per cents in terms of achievement and that is a credit to all staff in the clinical commissioning group and primary care, who are largely responsible for the success.

“We are now moving beyond the top four priority group as we met the deadline set by the Government to achieve that. “Everyone in that group will have been offered a vaccine by March 15 and now we’re extending it down to the next set of priority groups and we anticipate the same level of success.”
