Driver wanted after hit and run with cyclist

MOTORIST FAILED TO STOP AFTER WEST MARSH COLLISION

HUMBERSIDE Police are hunting for a driver involved in a hit and run with a cyclist.

Officers investigat­ing the collision have asked the driver of a light coloured vehicle with the partial registrati­on BT5 to come forward and assist in the investigat­ion.

The driver failed to stop after the collision last month on Cromwell Road which left the cyclist with minor injuries.

The incident happened on February 16 near to the Littlefiel­d Lane junction and despite extensive enquires, including the recovery of CCTV footage, the police have so far been unable to located the driver.

A Humberside Police spokespers­on said: “Officers investigat­ing a

reported collision are appealing for the driver to come forward.

“It was reported that on Tuesday, February 16, between 7-7.30pm, a light-coloured vehicle driving along Cromwell Road, Grimsby, has collided with a man riding a pushbike near to the Littlefiel­d Lane junction.

“The cyclist sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

“The driver left the scene of the collision travelling along Cromwell Road, towards the roundabout close to the Tesco Express.

“It is believed this light-coloured vehicle has the partial vehicle registrati­on number BT5. Despite a number of enquiries since the incident such as CCTV and speaking to witnesses, we have been unable to locate this driver.”
