POP STARS TO BANISH OUR BLUES
MASSIVE OUTDOOR CONCERT TO BRING BIG NAMES AND BIG SMILES TO CLEETHORPES THIS SUMMER
PIXIE Lott, Gareth Gates and Alexandra Burke have been announced as headliners at a new Cleethorpes festival. They’ll be joined by 5IVE and Scott Mills at POP-Live 2021 at Meridian Point Showground, in Cleethorpes, in September.
Organised by The Gathering Festival, there are hopes it could be even bigger than that as it hits a more mainstream crowd.
Festival director, Daz Flatman said: “Tribute acts or tribute bands wouldn’t be enough to make this a unique event, as this has been done before.
“The team are making the event much more than that by bringing a line-up of real popstars and pop bands to the area. “The decision was made to take a huge risk and create what is promised to be a full-on concert experience with a festival feel.”
Pixie Lott, who has three UK number ones including All About Tonight, Mama Do and Boys and Girls, will be on the main stage alongside Alexandra Burke, who also has three UK number ones including Bad Boys, Start Without You and Hallelujah. Festival-goers can also enjoy music from Pop Idol winner Gareth Gates, who has four UK number one hits, 5IVE, who have sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and Radio One star Scott Mills.
Daz added: “After the huge success of the Gathering Fest in 2019 at the Meridian showground in Cleethorpes, the guys decided that there was a niche in the market for an event for families with children aged 14 and over.
“A huge big top tent will host as the main stage, numerous fully licensed bars will be on site as well as food stalls and a full funfair.
“The site will include a luxury VIP tent with DJs, VIP garden area with private bar and posh toilets, for anyone who purchases VIP tickets.
“So much work has been put into our events in the past and anyone attending will have seen that.
“We’re really excited to again bring something to Cleethorpes that’s normally only available in the cities. “For all of you who attended the Gathering Fest 2019, you’ll know how good this event will be”.
POP-Live 2021 will be held at at Meridian Point Showground, in Cleethorpes, on Friday, September 10. Only people aged 14 and above can attend this event.
