New watersports centre is just what resort needs
FOLLOWING our story about the plan for a watersports centre with a shop, cafe and restaurant on Cleethorpes seafront, you had your say on our Facebook page.
■ ■Eleanor Sweeney: Looks amazing! Good luck with it all! It’s just what our resort needs xx
■ ■Christopher Shaw: Had one on Shalesmoor in Sheffield and there is a venue in Newcastle. Good to see Cleethorpes is catching up. Who knows, someone in Grimsby may come up with the same idea in 10 or 20 years. If you want the basic idea go and look at the signalbox at North Sea Lane!
■ ■Rich Mills: Good luck with this Vince Weavers. It looks fantastic and it’s also great to see something get such a positive response from Grimsby Live readers!
■ ■Gill Strempel Was Hughes: I love this idea and hopefully if it gets approved and built it might encourage other new businesses to move into the Wonderland area.
■ ■Danny Lonsdale: “When the sea level rises”. Do they know something we don’t? Is Cleethorpes going to be under water in a few years?
■ ■Kerry Cade: What a fantastic design! Anything to improve the North Promenade should be encouraged! Good luck Ebb & Flo!
■ ■Jenni Cooper: Looks amazing good luck! Nice to see locals investing in the area for the future.
■ ■Oi Oi Melv: Seen the same in Sheffield, looks really cool.
■ ■Rosemarie Bruce: Great to see an investment in Cleethorpes, good luck.
■ ■Kev Holberry: Or design it so rising water doesn’t affect anything on ground floor ... rather than move it. That way it stays on the seafront where it deserves to be
■ ■Rueban Vandecasteele: Great idea these types of builds, work well, been to a few in cities.
■ ■Fiona Hunter: What brilliant architecture - love this and love the idea. Good luck Ebb and Flo.
■ ■Richard Lent: Brilliant. I wish you every success with this project. We need new ideas and investment on the seafront and in the town. Fantastic.
■ ■Maggie Parrott: This is what Cleethorpes should be about - independent businesses doing their thing and rejuvenating the area. If more people invest and the council, approve, back and support these ventures, we could eventually turn Cleethorpes into somewhere special again and attract money-spending visitors and locals, and hopefully stop the rot from setting in any more. The council should support and help these guys as much as they need.
