It’s good to see a bit of normality at last!

Following our story about people packing pub beer gardens as the lockdown restrictions are eased, you had your say on our Facebook page.

-

Richard Rumbelow: Bless them, it was lovely to see people out enjoying themselves today. Light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy and cheers back at you!

Jean Reynolds: Lovely seeing a bit of normality coming back. Bet their pints tasted amazing.

Lulu Mecena: If I didn’t have the kids I’d have gone, definitely. I think people forget that pubs are the only place we can truly escape our kids and your kids!

Jenny Collins: Good to see a bit of normality at last!

Sammie Chapman: During lockdown people were making bars and doing their gardens etc so why not just drink at home? It baffles me. On the first day of pubs opening and they’re packed out – will there be any wonder if we go back into lockdown again soon. We best not have another lockdown again. Ryan Day: Who can blame them? Long overdue.

Dave Collins: At last a taste of normality

Daniél McLéod: Good on you lads! Dawn Pears: Yep, very lively. Jane Guest: Could have opened the dentists and doctors properly first.

Sonny Sellars: If I wasn’t at work I’d have popped for “one”.

Edith Jane Rotherham: I won’t be going back to pubs because it will never be same again. There won’t be any more karaoke for a long time and most of my drinking friends are here no more. I don’t want coronavirus – it will come back and we’ll be in another lockdown.

Lisa Jayne Burnett: Too cold for that.

Carol Rees: Why be that desperate to get to the pub when shops never stopped selling alcohol?

Simon Douglas: How about we close everything, let the economy die, until Covid is gone? Oh, that’s right, because it will never be gone. Get busy living or get busy dying. I’d have been in the pub if I could, get those tills ringing!

John Woods: It was barely above freezing. You must be desperate for a cold beer when the beer is warmer than the person drinking it.
