■ Manager Paul Hurst will now step up his recruitment process with a very busy summer ahead of him.
While he won’t rush in, he will also be conscious of the need to get a core of the squad together with plenty of time left to work with them in pre-season.
A poor approach to pre-season at the beginning of the last campaign under Ian Holloway was one of the first big failures that ultimately led to their demise out of League Two - and there is no way Hurst and the new owners will let that happen again.
The Town boss has already set about identifying potential new signings for next season’s National League campaign and has declared himself happy with the budget at his disposal.
