New carvery rules on menu
POPULAR RESTAURANT PROMISES COVID-SAFE ENVIRONMENT
A POPULAR restaurant and carvery will be implementing new rules for customers when it reopens next week.
Beechwood Farm, in Grimsby, is preparing for diners to enjoy a carvery indoors from May 17.
But things are changing due to new government guidance on pubs, restaurants and cafes opening their indoor space for the first time since Christmas.
Like Toby Carvery, the Farmhouse Inns chain (which includes Beechwood Farm) has said diners will not be able to serve themselves at the carvery.
Service will be done one table at a time to keep customers safe and prevent queuing at the carvery. A protective glass screen has also been put up around the carvery and tills. Tables will be laid out spaciously to allow a safe distance between customers.
As expected, customers will be asked to sanitise their hands upon arrival, and when going to the bathroom. Food and drink will be delivered to the table. Contactless card payments are preferred when paying, and customers can also use the Order and Pay app.
Staff will be trained on how to work safely, whilst keeping customers happy. Each worker will have a temperature check at the start of every shift.
What’s more, full risk assessments will be carried out on the pubs, from deliveries to protecting both teams and suppliers. Information on the changes on the Farmhouse Inns website say: “For the time being we’ll be plating up your carvery for you from behind a protective glass screen, but you can still choose exactly how you want to build your meal.” Bookings for Monday, May 17, onwards can be made online.
