GET SET FOR A WINTER GATHERING TO REMEMBER AT BEACHCOMBER

ORGANISERS of the popular Cleethorpes festival, The Gathering, are to bring DJs back to the seaside resort for the winter edition of the event.

Around 1,500 people will be able to attend the Winter Gathering event at the Beachcomber in Cleethorpes on Saturday, November 13.

Following the success of the summer event, those behind the idea cannot wait to bring the festival back next month on a smaller scale.

The festival will be held indoors, giving audiences a much better chance to see the production elements that go into making the event so special.

It will be eight hours of clubbing across three rooms, with some of the finest DJs and acts. Organiser Kirk Lloyd, 37, from Cleethorpes says, after the summer success, it made sense to give the people more of what they want. He said: “The last event went far better than we thought it could have ever gone. Everyone got on board with the concept and some people even flew in from Iceland just to be here for it.

“We were a little worried at the time that people may not turn up. We know of larger events where all the tickets have sold and around 35 per cent of people still haven’t turned up.

“After having to reschedule the festival three times though, it was great to see all those people come together for what we had to show them.

“Off the back of summer, we’re feeling really happy about the Winter Gathering. We realised that once a year is a long time for people to wait so we thought we’d bring another festival to them before the year is out. “Ticket sales and the hype around the event is already going incredibly well. When we put the 350 early bird tickets on sale, they sold out within 10 minutes. “We’re also excited to be going back to where The Gathering was born, The Beachcomber. It’s very special for us to be doing it there. “We think we’ve pulled off a brilliant line up for the winter show though, we can’t wait.”
