PAUL Hurst has admitted Grimsby Town are already planning for the January transfer window which could discourage the club from signing a new striker. The Mariners have been scouting to add a new forward to their ranks but with players close to returning to first-team training, those plans have slightly cooled. With Ryley Towler and Alex Hunt both on loan deals until January, Hurst has admitted his squad could change in the New Year.

That, as well as the improving health of his squad, could rule out the necessity of any imminent arrivals.

“We are having a couple of conversations and watching some footage but we’re not looking too urgently,”

Hurst told BBC Humberside.

“We’re not being complacent, there is a thought in my mind that we’re in a good place as a squad. I don’t want to bring someone in and they’re not involved.

“I’m at a point where we nearly have a fit squad and then there are players that can’t make the matchday “It’s the 50million-dollar questions,” conscious of that. he added.

“If I find something that “We don’t know, so much can would really improve happen game-to-game.
