Grimsby Town summer transfers player ratings as John McAtee and four others stand out

- By ELLIOTT JACKSON elliott.jackson@reachplc.com

GRIMSBY Town’s summer recruitment drive has paid dividends so far this term.

The Mariners added 15 players to their squad during the off-season, with 11 permanent deals and four loan signings.

They have helped Paul Hurst’s side reach the top of the National League table after 11 matches and are amongst the favourites for promotion.

Some have contributed more than others, with the likes of John McAtee and Ben Fox hitting the ground, whilst others have had to wait for their opportunities.

Here are Grimsby Live’s scores at the 11-match mark, with a six representing par for the course.

Max Crocombe

A tough one to judge as Crocombe is yet to play for the first team but his full debut could come this weekend in the FA Cup.

Adam Crookes

Has been a solid and dependable addition at left-back after dropping down a division. One of Town’s underrated performers.

Shaun Pearson

Game time has been limited of late as Luke Waterfall and Ryley Towler have cemented their partnership in defence. Has still been a good addition and adds depth and experience to the squad.

Ryley Towler

Has formed a very solid partnership with Waterfall in defence. Complements the

towering defender well with his calmness in possession.

Michee Efete

A slight blemish on his record is the red card at Bromley and now he faces a fight with Ryan Sears. He has impressed on the pitch since his move, though.

Ryan Sears

Since replacing Efete, he has grown into the role at right-back. Played his best game in Town colours at Woking and will be determined to keep the shirt.
