How the players rated in home win

-

GRIMSBY Town maintained their place at the top of the National League as they secured a 2-0 victory over Yeovil Town at Blundell Park.

Here’s how the players rated:

James McKeown: Didn’t have any saves of note to make in the first half but was there when called upon as Yeovil applied pressure in the second half - 7

Ryan Sears: Starting his fourthsuccessive league match, Sears continues to grow into the role at right-back. Would like to see him go forward a little more - 7

Luke Waterfall: Rock-solid as usual from the stand-in Town skipper. One shakey moment in the second half where he miss controlled the ball and let Charlie Wakefield in - 6

Ryley Towler: Was put under pressure by Joe Quigley and bailed out by the referee in the early stages. It does go under the radar how good Towler is in possession, often finding Hunt in little pockets to get Town out of defence - 7

Adam Crookes: Didn’t put a foot wrong at left-back to justify his selection - 7

Ben Fox: Workmanlike performance in a frantic midfield battle. Adds important steel in the centre which complements Hunt - 6

Alex Hunt: Another composed display from the Sheffield Wednesday loanee in the heart of midfield. Keeps things simple and doesn’t panic in possession - 7

Will Bapaga: Won the penalty with a great direct run at the Yeovil defence. Didn’t get enough service but looked a threat when he was fed possession - 6

John McAtee: His work rate is infectious. If an intricate pass doesn’t come off, he’s the first to try and win the ball back. Sealed the points with a great finish in stoppage time - 7

Harry Clifton: Usual hard work down the left-hand side without quite the end product as usual. Forced a fantastic save from Smith in the second half - 7

John-Lewis: Lead the line well in the absence of Ryan Taylor, burying his penalty to give Town the lead. Occupied both centrebacks and linked play nicely. Missed a sitter from a couple of yards which would have put Town two ahead - 7
