place to live.

A WOMAN living on a Grimsby street says she is subjected to sleepless nights because of nuisance motorbikes racing up and down at all hours.

The Pasture Street resident, who asked not to be named, has had enough of the issues which she says are blighting people’s lives.

She also claims to frequently see crimes taking place, including drug deals, and was nearly knocked over by a motorbike tearing down the street.

She said: “People are always going round here and speeding, sometimes without a helmet on.

“When you report it to the police, they don’t seem to do anything about it.

“It’s beyond a joke.

“We also have a lot of nuisance neighbours that no one seems to take responsibility for.

“I hear doors slamming at all hours of the day and have even seen drug dealings taking place on the doorstep, there are at least two houses with this issue.

“By far, the worst problem has to be the motorbikes that come racing down the road at around 2am.

“They speed through the estate and I’m always reporting them when I see them. Once, I was nearly knocked over by one because it pulled out too quickly.

“You often see them speeding down Pasture Street going the wrong way.”

The woman said she and others just want their community repairing.

She said: “You can hear these idiots all day and night; boy racers often turn up with their exhausts that make it sound like a shotgun is going off.

“It’s just so annoying, nobody seems to care anymore.

“A lot of us like living here, but the bad is starting to filter through and it’s not as nice a place to live.”

She’s now pleading with police to sort the issues after she said she’s been constantly reporting them.

Humberside Police said they are working hard to stop people riding bikes recklessly in the area and carrying out various exercises through Operation Yellowfin.

A spokesperson said: “As a force, we have been very open about the challenges of theft and motorcycle-related crimes and remain resolute in bringing motorbike thieves and those who ride motorbikes in an antisocial way to justice.

“One of the key roles of our local Neighbourhood Policing Teams is to be out in their communities supporting the majority of owners who ride their motorbikes and mopeds in accordance with the law.

“We continue to seek out those who ride their bikes recklessly and in an antisocial way and deal with them accordingly.

“We need help from the residents to give us information about who’s riding these bikes and tell us where they’re are being stored.

“If you have information on motorbike-related crime and antisocial behaviour please call us on 101, and quote Op Yellowfin.”
