Why wait? Time to make face masks compulsory
THE front page story in the he Grimsby Telegraph on Geoff Barnes about our ur local hospitals possibly ly winter (November being overwhelmed 10) is worrying this i and the chance of more Covid d restrictions is possible.
Why wait, why not make mask wearing compulsory now rather than do a Boris and leave it too late?
The amount of people who you see not wearing masks in confined spaces, supermarkets, buses, offices is alarming.
What hardship is it to wear a mask and sanitise your hands to try to keep you and others safe?

Readers on our Facebook page also had this to say on the story:
■ Tracey Whyte: Well if they’re thinking of saying no one is allowed to your house then that’s never going to happen. My family will be coming to our house.
■ Avi Sheela: Finally reading some comments on here from likeminded people. I’m sharing Christmas with my family as will those who are saying we shouldn’t.
■ Sam Obrien: I caught Covid from my daughter who is double jabbed. I was bed-bound for three days then in hospital for five days on high dependency unit. I couldn’t walk or do any physical things.
This happened in August and I’m only just recovered. I’m not jabbed but my antibody test said I’m protected yet I’ve also been told I need a
vaccine still because my natural antibodies are not enough. Nothing is making sense and I feel controlled so much.
■ Adam West: Wait until we are being asked to take a fourth shot by Easter.
■ Christopher James Lee: I find the medical and ethical expertise continually oozing out of Grimsby most reassuring.
■ Trev Wistow: It’s simple stuff, winter is coming and you need better cover in winter. Do it and save your health.
■ Sam Obrien: There should be no restrictions. I think the whole of the UK has had Covid at least once since last year, which means natural immunity.
■ Lynniee Lynne: Human pin cushions springs to mind.
■ Mikey Brown: Flu season.
