Paul A Calder: These carers were applauded during the start of this pandemic and they are now being thrown on the scrapheap. The government just doesn’t care.

Becca Matts: Does the vaccine stop you catching it or spreading it? If vulnerable people are vaccinated they should be OK, as long as Covid procedures are followed.

Sean Springall: Whatever happened to human rights?

Claire Borman: I’d rather my relative was cared for by an unvaccinated carer than no carer at all.

Kate Hewitt: This ridiculousness is creating massive problems in care homes. If I had a family member in a home currently I’d be bringing them home. I’d worry there would be insufficient staff.

Becca Matts: Most couldn’t cope without having a job and some probably feel forced to have the jab so they can pay bills, look after their family and eat rather than risk going on to benefits or having to find another job.

Nicky England: My friend doesn’t want the jab but still has a mortgage and bills to pay. She is backed into a corner and that is wrong.

Martin Cotton: No jab, no job, fair enough.

Abbie Leigh: Do they have any idea how hard it’s been for carers working with Covid? Imagine caring for someone for years and watching them die of Covid because the government said there was not enough oxygen to go round, while no family was allowed we were their family.

Watching them all die of Covid was horrible and it whipped them all out. Give carers a break, it’s disgusting how the government treat care staff and their residents.

Sue Cutler: Yes, we have to be jabbed, but family and friends who come to visit don’t have to be. My mind boggles how they work this one out.

Lanie Stark: Are all these care workers forced to have the flu vaccine, too?

Dick Cooper: They choose to go down that road. Their priority is for the care of the elderly. If by not getting vaccinated puts the elderly at risk well it’s goodbye, no argument.

Jenna Burnett: Where in their contract does it state they have to have it? And if everyone refused the jab, who would look after the elderly?

Steven Grayson: Antibodies tests could be answer.

Adam West: If masks work then why can’t they just wear a mask?
