Covid rates in area surge by 40% in a week
FIFTY WITH CORONAVIRUS BEING TREATED BY NORTHERN LINCOLNSHIRE’S HOSPITAL TRUST
CORONAVIRUS cases in northern Lincolnshire have jumped 40 per cent in a single week.
There are an extra 500 cases across the region compared to the previous seven days.
The sudden surge comes after several weeks of gradual decreases in Covid cases.
North East Lincolnshire saw a total of 805 people test positive in the seven days leading up to November 13, according to the latest data.
This is 233 more than the previous week.
The overall rate is 505 cases per 100,000 residents.
North Lincolnshire has also seen a big jump with 796 cases in the most recent week – up 221 from the week before.
Its rate is now 460 cases per 100,000 people.
There are currently 50 people with coronavirus being treated by northern Lincolnshire’s hospital trust.
22 are in Grimsby Hospital (with none in ICU), 27 in Scunthorpe General Hospital (with two in ICU), and one person is in Goole hospital.
