That poor, poor dog, how can anyone be so cruel?

IReaders on our FB page also had their say on the story:

WAS truly horrified and appalled at the story concerning the tragic dumping of a defenceless one-year-old dog at Bradley Woods (Dying dog with two fractured legs found dumped in woods, Grimsby Telegraph, November 18). What kind of human being would do something so callous and so evil beyond belief?

The fact that it was so badly injured and had suffered all alone defies logic and must not be ignored.

It is truly shamefull that this poor young dog was left like rubbish.

Name and address supplied. ■ Rachel Marshall: That poor, poor dog. How can anyone be so cruel? Just disgusting.

■ Anya Syer: What is wrong with some people? If you are heartless enough to dump an animal, dump it on a vet’s doorstep. It’s a horrible world we live in.

■ Lei N Jon Hayes: If whoever owned the dog didn’t want it then why do they not find someone who did? There are plenty of people like myself who would love to have adopted it.

■ Tracey Bristow. The poor thing. You’re in no pain now. I hope they find out what happened and it’s dealt with. ■ Sue Lepley: Find the owners and fine them heavily. Absolutely disgusting to leave an animal like that.

■ Zoë Thompson Humphries: If someone left this dog to die in the woods the full force of the law should be used against them. Rest in peace beautiful pup. Thank God that person found it. ■ Kevyn J Plumtree: It’s moments like this I truly hope karma does exist. Poor pooch.

■ Julie Prince: Hopefully the owner will be found and prosecuted, however long it takes to find them.

■ Kerry Ann Kelly: How can anyone do something like that? That poor doggy. This has absolutely broken my heart.

■ Lisa Walker: That poor dog. No animal should be treated like this.

■ Shell Aiken: This is disgusting and there’s no excuses for this behaviour. If anyone is having a hard time with their pet and is thinking of dumping them, contact me. I’ll take them in no questions asked. I’ll rehab and re-home where possible.

■ Sonny Fix Sellars: I hope this is an accident and not done on purpose. No dog deserves this. ■ Beverley Warner-Hyde: Absolutely disgraceful. Some people are on another level.

■ Glen Parry: What is the matter with some people? They have no heart and no respect for animals. We call ourselves a nation of animal lovers but in the 21st century some people are still treating and abusing animals in this manner. RIP, I hope justice is served.
