Grimsby largest engineering business has launched a major recruitment drive to fill dozens of new roles.
Blackrow, a multi-million-pound business with 200-plus staff, says orders have grown significantly and to meet demand the Grimsby Company needs to hire up to
40 staff who will work in a new facility currently in design. Blackrow, which serves many companies and sectors, is looking for skilled workers and semi-skilled workers as well as unskilled workers to give them a chance to begin a career in engineering. The positions will be full-time contracts.
The company, which has also been awarded a large contract with an OEM overseas to manufacture equipment in Grimsby, which serves sectors as diverse as defence, power generation and utilities, pharmaceutical, petrochemical engineering with food being the predominant industry. Incorporated in 1980, the company has gained an enviable reputation across the business world for its in-house facility and site installation works, creating an unparalleled breadth of products and skills.
Director Gary Pexman said:
“All departments within Blackrow have been busy during the last year working through the pandemic supporting the Food and Heavy Industries.
“We have now got to a stage where we have more than 200 employees across the business and we are now looking to expand further. “What we have experienced over the last six to eight months is our current client base starting to ramp up on projects that were put on hold during the pandemic. Resulting in our need to recruit to support us moving into the coming years.’’
