THE AA Restaurant Guide for 2022 has been released and six northern Lincolnshire restaurants have made the exclusive list.

These are now among the best places to eat in the country.

The guide uses a five-tier system to rate each restaurant, from one to five Rosettes, which shows how highly it rates each establishment.

The prestigious guide includes only the most critically acclaimed restaurants and competition is notoriously tough.

It is important to remember that this is the list of the very best restaurants in the country, so even one Rosette is something to write home about.

Here is the list of the best restaurants in northern Lincolnshire, according to The AA Restaurant Guide 2022.

Located on Silver Street in Winteringham Fields is the only Michelinstarred restaurant in Lincolnshire.

Chef Colin McGurran has created something quite magical here with farm outbuildings converted into accommodation and a high class restaurant.

An eight-course tasting menu changes most days depending on what arrives in the kitchen but a typical meal might kick off with chicken taco, fermented cabbage, lime and herb emulsion followed by slowpoached Arlington White egg, celeriac, Morteau sausage and ham fat dressing.

Inventive flavour combinations continue with BBQ teriyaki short rib Wagyu beef, English peas, buttermilk and wasabi. End with a delicate brown sugar tart teamed with banana salsa and rum malt.

Pig Pig & Whistle, Healing Healing Manor Hotel, Manor Healing Hotel, (Two rosettes) Healing

(Two rosettes)

Located on Stallingborough Road in Healing, Grimsby, the Pig & Whistle is a traditional pub that adjoins the picturesque, ivy-clad Healing Manor Hotel and offers poshed-up pub grub.

It has made the AA guide for the first time.

It boasts carefully considered dishes made from ingredients such as plump, juicy scallops and excellent quality duck breasts, sitting alongside the more conventional sausage and mash and fish and chips.

Justifying their dog-friendly claim,

there’s even a menu just for your canine companions.

The Advocate Arms, Market Rasen (Two rosettes)

Situated on Queen Street in Market Rasen, The Advocate Arms is another restaurant that made the guide this year.

The 18th Century restaurant with rooms in the centre of town has a contemporary finish and aims to impress with boutique styling and an open-plan interior.

In the main restaurant, the output is broadly modern British, with some inventive combinations and plenty to satisfy any traditionalists.

Sicily, has created a restaurant with rooms in a former windmill that combines the best of Italian hospitality with a touch of boutique swagger. A first course dish of ballotine of rabbit and foie gras shows the restaurant has a great deal of ambition.

and Anchor The Hope and Anchor Pub, South Ferriby Pub, (Two South rosettes) Ferriby

(Two rosettes)

Positioned on Sluice Road in South Ferriby, The Hope and Anchor is a picturesque pub that serves high quality food. Tucked amidst creeks and moorings, the panoramic views from the patio and restaurant encompass the waterways and nearby Humber Bridge. An appealingly updated 19th-century inn, with exposed brickwork and a logburning stove, this is a popular stop for birdwatchers, dog-walkers, and those seeking good bistro style food.

Best Best Western Oaklands Oaklands Hall Hotel, Laceby (One rosette)

Hall Hotel, Laceby (One rosette)

Located on Barton Street in Laceby, the Best Western Oaklands Hall hotel serves the best of modern British cuisine.

The balustraded red-brick mansion, built in 1877, sits in five acres of landscaped parkland between the Wolds and the Humber and makes a pleasant spot for the full country-house experience.
